Architect hired for city hall restoration

The city has selected an architect for the restoration of the windows on the historic City Hall building. Now it remains for the Florida Department of State to approve the choice.
The Monticello City Council voted on Tuesday evening, Oct. 3, to hire the Tallahassee-based company of MLD Architects, following the recommendation of the selection committee. City Clerk Emily Anderson told the council that two firms had responded to the city’s request for proposals and MLD had been best fit for the city’s need in the committee’s estimation.
