Story Submitted

The Jefferson County United Way Campaign Team kicked-off this year’s drive with an annual Community Fundraiser Dinner at the First United Methodist Church. Members of the campaign team and volunteers served guests a delicious smoked chicken dinner and topped off with a variety of delicious cake and pies.
This year’s event is a success with a special thanks to Pastor John Hicks, Johnston’s Meat Market, Carrie Ann & Co. and Winn Dixie for their support in sponsoring the meal.
Partner agencies were also on-hand to share information about their programs and how to gain access to these services. Agencies participating were: We Care Network, Kids Incorporated, Legal Services of North Florida, Capital City Youth Services, Elder Care Services, Jefferson Senior Citizens Center, Capital Area Community Action Agency, and Refuge House.
For 75 years, United Way of the Big Bend (UWBB) has been able to have a continued and lasting impact in our neighboring counties. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, our campaign theme this year ‘A Legacy That Endures,’ provides a wonderful opportunity for us to continue to build on the strong foundation. UWBB invites you join us this year and be a part of a legacy that endures by renewing your commitment and support.
