Robert “Bobby” Wesley Bullock

Robert “Bobby” Wesley Bullock, age 60, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2018 at UF Shands in Gainesville. He was born in Thomasville, GA, on July 29, 1957 to the late Betty Jean (Warren) and William W. Bullock of Monticello, FL. He was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson County High School.

Bobby worked construction for W.S. Lee Company of Tallahassee and moved to Eatonton, GA, in 1988 where he became a successful business owner and met the love of his life, Peggye. Bobby and Peggye married on November 18, 1989 in Monticello and lived in Eatonton. Bobby managed his own Badcock Home Furnishing Center for 23 years from 1988 to 2011. He moved back to Monticello in 2012 when he closed his store. He was self-employed in construction until his death.

Bobby enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an excellent chef. He also was an avid fan of the University of Florida Gators. Go Gators!

Bobby is survived by his wife of almost 29 years, Peggye (Kirkley) Bullock; three children: daughter, Elizabeth Hammock of Eatonton, GA, son, Lee Hammock of Eatonton, GA, and son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Emily Bullock of Winter Haven; three grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Jacey, Jaden, and Kaylee; two brothers, William (Deborah) Bullock and Wallace (Diane) Bullock; a sister, Jean (Perry) Marsh; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and some great, lifelong friends.

A service was held Monday, June 11, at First Baptist Church in Monticello. Arrangements were handled by Beggs Funeral Home in Monticello. Bobby left this earth happy, content, and fulfilled, having surrendered his life to God in the last few months of his life.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” (2 Tim. 4:7)
