The second annual MLK Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 19 from 12 to 4 p.m. The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center is located at 1421 1st Street in Monticello, behind the Howard Middle School. “Come one, come all, come hungry,” says Event Coordinator Charles Parrish. “There will be an inspirational program along with the meal and there is no charge for this time of friends and fellowship.” The menu will consist of turkey and ham, green beans with potatoes, dressing and giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoe pie, dinner rolls, fruit punch, and ice-cold water to drink. Come, sit down, relax, and dine with friends or pick-up a meal and be on your way. Either way, this is a ministry for the community, served with love and kindness.
