Wimberly’s Celebrating 72 Years of Marriage

Mildred Elaine Coley Wimberly and Thomas Sutton Wimberly were married on October 21, 1945 at the First United Methodist Church in Cochran, Georgia. On October 21, 2017 they celebrated 72 years of marriage.
They moved to Monticello 70 years ago, and have lived in the same house on East Washington Street for 69 years. They are longtime members of the First Baptist Church Monticello.
Mildred is a retired bookkeeper, having worked for Production Credit, now known as Farm Credit. Tom, or 'Sut' as he is more lovingly known as, is a retired manager, having worked for Van H. Priest 5 & 10 Cent Store.
They were blessed with two children, David Wimberly (Lynette) and Elaine Wimberly Whittington (Greg;) three grandchildren, Justin, Amelia, and Jacob; and five great-grandchildren.
Sut was born on February 22, 1920. He enjoys fishing and growing Satsumas. He was president of the Monticello Lions Club for many years.
Mildred just recently celebrated another birthday. She was born on October 9, 1921. She enjoys sewing, growing flowers, and making floral arrangements. She was a member of the Monticello Garden Club and Triple L.
Together they enjoy time with family and friends.
